Last days

Last days (2005), última parte de «la trilogía minimal de la muerte» de Gus Vant Sant iniciada con Gerry y seguida por Elephant, es de esas películas más admiradas que queridas; reconocida casi de manera unánime como una gran obra, resulta poco referenciada a la hora de elaborar listas o retrospectivas sentimentales. De hecho, esta revisión totalmente libre e imaginada de los últimos días de Kurt Cobain (o Blake, nombre al que responde en la cinta para evitar demandas y reclamos) es casi tan desconocida en nuestro país como Gerry o Mala noche, la opera prima de Van Sant. Es una lástima: su retrato de alienación adolescente/juvenil es tan bello e hipnótico como cualquier arranque de lirismo patineto de Paranoid Park .

Plus: Michael Pitt está estupendo como Blake. Curiosamente, su nota más alta no se encuentra  en la cinta, sino en este tour de force (no incluido en el corte final) donde exponencia con concentrada intensidad el genio improvisador  de Cobain. Devastador.
